Houston Weather Today

Houston weather today is going to be mostly dry with highs in the mid-60s. The temperature will be chilly tonight but will warm up to the 50s by the weekend. However, a cold front is expected to push in Thursday morning, dropping the temperatures from the 70s into the low 60s. Houston Weather Today

A brisk wind will blow through the area on Thursday. A few gusts can reach as high as 25 mph. As the wind increases, the dew point will increase and showers will be possible. These showers are not expected to last long, but the cold front will cause temperatures to drop to around 40 degrees overnight.

This weather is not a surprise for residents of this area. Hurricane Harvey hit Houston, causing flooding in some areas of the city. It caused widespread damage. In fact, many of the sites that recorded the strongest winds were in the Houston and Lufkin areas.

Some people were skeptical of the original forecast, which predicted a strong storm could blow through the area. But the weather forecasters were right on. An amended forecast called for 40-50 mph gusts. One of the most significant gusts was recorded at the A.L. Mangham Airport in Nacogdoches.

Today's weather is also likely to be colder than yesterday, although that's not what you'll be thinking. The average temperature in December in the state of Texas is 68°F. That's only 10°F warmer than the average in January.

It's an ozone action day in Houston. A swarm of ozone particles will move in from the east. This is going to lead to a few thunderstorms. Thankfully, the rain will only last a few hours.

On Wednesday, the weather will be partly sunny. There is a 40 percent chance of rain. However, there is also a strong chance of showers. Fortunately, these showers will be limited to the outlying areas of the city.

Friday will also be sunny, with highs in the lower to mid-60s. This is a far cry from the days of the past when the high was often in the 90s. Lows will be in the upper 30s and will be breezy. If you're planning to run the Houston Marathon, expect some breezy conditions.

Monday will be a little cooler, with highs in the low to mid-60s. Again, this isn't as sweltering as it was in September and October, but there is still plenty of humidity. Although the humidity isn't very high, it's enough to make you feel like you're in 100-degree heat.

The weather today in Houston will be a little better than it was yesterday, but the best weather is still out of reach. We will have to wait until next week before we see the showers return. Meanwhile, the cold front is moving into the city. This will bring cooler temperatures and a chance of showers, but it will be a bit warmer on Sunday.

Sunday night will be breezy. A cold front will push through Houston around sunrise. Nonetheless, the weekend looks to be a dry one. Highs in the mid to low 60s are likely, but cooler conditions are present further inland.
