There are a number of options to choose from when you are looking to watch a movie. You can go to a dine-in multiplex, a dine-in theater, or just a movie house. This article takes a look at some of the best places to catch a flick in Houston. Movie Theater Houston

First, there are the old standbys. The Grand Theatre, the AMC 30 Theaters, and the Marq*E multiplex are all good options. Each offers a variety of seating options from the stadium seats and the recliners to the reclining seats and the iPic Express grab-and-go counter. They also have a plethora of food and drink options to satiate the appetite.

Second, there are a couple of newer options to try. The iPic Theater, located in the River Oaks District, offers indulgent reclining seats, personal pillows, and the iPic Express grab-and-goes counter. It even has a full bar.

Finally, you can also check out the Aurora Picture Show, a media arts organization that offers the best of both worlds. This non-profit exhibits works by Texas filmmakers and also presents artist-made non-commercial videos. In addition, they have a kid's film series and a slew of other programs and special events.

One of the first drive-in theaters in Houston opened in June 1938, and today the city has two. One of the newer locations is the South Main Drive-In, which opened in 2006. However, they are not the only ones in the Houston area. Another is the Angelika Film Center and Cafe, which opened in 1997. While this theater is not as modern as its peers, it does offer a nice selection of films, from the cult classic to the latest blockbuster.

Other notable options include the Marq*E multiplex, which has the only IMAX theater in the city. Likewise, the Bayou Place movie house is in the Downtown area. Located on I-45, this cinema features drinks, snacks, and a variety of other entertainment options to please all ages. On a Saturday night, you can even buy a food truck to bring back to your car.

The AMC 30 Theaters, meanwhile, is a chain that was launched by Wal-Mart in 1992. It offers a wide selection of movies and TV shows on its two large screens, and there are many other small shops to browse. Also, the newer Marq*E multiplex has a large selection of movies and TV shows to entertain and enlighten all ages.

The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, also deserves a mention. This museum hosts the "MFA's Big Thing" a yearly ceremony that highlights the best of the best from the art, music, and film fields.
