The Zoo's illumination features are designed to promote conservation and provide a unique experience for the entire family. Each night, the zoo turns into a magical holiday spectacle with sparkling lights, twinkling trees, and thousands of LED bulbs. The Zoo even invites guests to build s'mores and take pictures with Santa.

The holiday festivities include an infinity tunnel of lights, animal-themed lanterns, and more. The Zoo also invites guests to visit a special holiday village, a holiday train village, and an Enchanted Forest. Visitors can also enjoy live musical performances, strolling carolers, and hot chocolate.

If you're a member of the Houston Zoo, you can take advantage of a number of discounts. These include a 20% discount for educators, first responders, and military members. You can also purchase tickets in advance for a discount. Members can receive free admission on certain nights.

There's also a drive-thru lightshow called Lights Alive!, which features a nearly mile-long route of lights, music, and other holiday attractions. Tickets are only $30 per vehicle. The attraction is 100% computer-controlled.

In addition to the drive-thru lightshow, the Zoo's illumination features include a 125-foot-long Infinity Tunnel of Light, a canopy of twinkling butterflies, and a colorful Christmas tree. On select nights, the rotund man from the North Pole may even appear.

The Zoo Lights experience includes nightly live music and holiday performances. While the show is not new, it continues to grow in size and excitement. Plus, the Zoo will be closed Christmas Eve, but open on Christmas Day.

Tickets are available in advance, and can be purchased on the website. Those who want to buy tickets should plan to arrive at the Zoo well in advance to ensure a good spot. Additionally, there are certain nights when Zoo Lights tickets are discounted. These nights include Sensor Friendly Night, Member Preview Night, and Sip and Sparkle Night.

As a Zoo Lights member, you will also be able to access a variety of exclusive events, such as the Holiday Train Village and an Infinity Tunnel of Light. For more information, see the Zoo Lights website.

During the holiday season, the Zoo's illumination is a must-see, but the Zoo is also a place where visitors can get a closer look at some of the world's most impressive animals. It's also one of the most interesting sights to visit in Houston, and is worth seeing in any season.

Whether you're a newcomer to the area, or a long-time resident, you'll love the holiday lights at the Houston Zoo. Even better, you can recycle your old holiday lights and keep them out of landfills. By reusing holiday decorations, the Zoo keeps it cleaner and more eco-friendly.
