Houston International Airport (IAH) is a major airport serving Houston, Texas, United States. It is the largest airport in the state and the fifth busiest in the country, as measured by passenger traffic. The airport serves both domestic and international flights. The main purpose of the Houston Airport System is to provide safe and efficient air services for a growing population in the Greater Houston area. It is one of the largest public airport systems in the United States. In 2019, the system served 60 million passengers.

Houston has two airports: William P Hobby and George Bush Intercontinental. Both are located north of the city. They offer international services to destinations in Africa, Latin America, Mexico, and Central America.

For many years, the airline industry was expanding rapidly in the United States. A group of businessmen decided to buy land in the northern part of the city. They sold the land to the city for a nominal price. This helped expedite the construction of a new airport.

Another transportation option is to use the Subway. This underground train connects the terminals and runs every three minutes. It departs from all of the airport's terminals.

The city has several hotels nearby. Some of them offer complimentary shuttles. Taxis are the fastest way to get to the downtown area.

The airport is also home to many cultural attractions and museums. If you have some time, you can visit Space Center Houston, a NASA center. Other sites to see include Market Square Park, the Museum District, and River Oaks.

If you are traveling by car, you can rent a vehicle at the airport. There are several rental companies at the airport. Many of them will give you a 10 percent discount if you book your rental through their website.

The city also has a transportation system, known as METRO. There is a bus line that picks up passengers in Terminal C.
